The honour awarded by Polish President Andrzej Duda was presented to Semjen by Jerzy Snopek, the Polish ambassador to Budapest.
Snopek praised Semjen as “one of the greatest Hungarian politicians”. Semjen, the leader of the allied ruling Christian Democratic party and a long-standing member of parliament, is “known as a great friend of Poland and the Polish people,” the ambassador said.
