Demján programme launched
The government will implement the programme together with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), explained Minister of Economy Márton Nagy (right) in Budapest on Tuesday. The programme aims to further strengthen the SME sector, which is the backbone of the economy.
It includes a capital programme to promote SME investment and competitiveness, a digitalisation package, a new loan programme to boost SME exports, a loan and capital programme to support foreign investment, EU programmes for business development, a reduction in the administrative burden for SMEs and a reduction in costs for micro-companies, as well as more favourable use of the Széchenyi card.
The government will support the Chamber with HUF 4.3 billion to implement the programme.
MKIK President Elek Nagy (l.) described support for SMEs as extremely important. He sees the decline in market demand as currently the biggest problem, followed by difficulties on the labour market, rising costs and a constantly growing administrative burden. He also cited the formation of larger energy communities to alleviate the energy problems of SMEs and the promotion of energy-saving measures as urgent tasks.
