Data protection authority opens probe into Pegasus spyware allegations
Hungary's data protection authority NAIH on Thursday said it has launched an official investigation into the Pegasus spyware case.
The investigation into press reports that the spyware licenced by the Israeli NSO Group had been used to hack the mobile phones of specific targets in multiple countries has been launched in line with Hungary’s laws on the right to informational self-determination and freedom of information, NAIH said in a statement.
The authority added that it will release no further information until the investigation is concluded.
