Court sentences man spreading Jihadist propaganda
A Budapest regional court has handed a two-year prison sentence to a Hungarian man for spreading propaganda promoting Al-Qaeda and Islamic State, and for posting Jihadist contents on a site registered in Germany, the court said on Wednesday.
The man was tracked down and arrested in a coordinated operation of German authorities and Hungary’s Counter-terrorism force TEK, the court said in a statement.
The German authorities said the man had uploaded 18 files with radical content onto the site between 2018 and 2019. The provider removed the content but German authorities were able to salvage it, and the data contributed to the perpetrator’s identification.
The man is being held in custody until the end of the procedure.
The ruling is not binding.
