Chain Bridge renovation bids ‘good basis’ for negotiations
The Budapest Public Transport Centre (BKK) on Thursday said four bids submitted in a tender for the renovation of the capital's landmark Chain Bridge provide a "good basis for negotiations" to reach "an agreement advantageous for both the winner and BKK".
All four parties that made it through a pre-qualifier submitted bids by the October 28 deadline, BKK said.
They are A-Hid, Kozgep, STRABAG and the SDD Consortium which comprises Subterra, Domper and Pannon-Doprastav.
BKK said it expects to sign a contract with the tender winner in February 2021.
A tender was called for the renovation of the Chain Bridge in 2019, but the city’s former mayor balked at the prices contractors wanted for the project.
