Budapest park in Green Cities Europe contest
Northern Budapest's Punkosdfurdo Park, the winner of Hungary's National Green Cities Europe Award, will represent the country in the Green Cities Europe international contest in Brussels in October, Mayor Gergely Karacsony said on Facebook on Wednesday.
Karacsony said the Punkosdfurdo project, implemented by the city council and municipal park manager FOKERT, was one of the projects launched and completed by Budapest’s incumbent leadership.
Punkosdfurdo is the city’s first “rain park” with 600 trees, shrubs and wild flowers, Karacsony said.
