Budapest Mayor’s Office to poll public opinion on Margaret Island
The Budapest Mayor's Office is polling public opinion about the city's popular Margaret Island to gauge whether its leisure functions should be strengthened and if current services are popular, the office said on Wednesday.
The metropolitan council that is in charge of the area wants to assess if the current park functions, the amount and quality of available services and the environmental burden on the park are in balance and environmentally sustainable, the statement said.
The high number of visitors and the diversity of activities currently seen on the island have raised the suspicion of over-use, it added.
The Mayor’s Office invites members of the public to fill out an online questionnaire available at budapest.hu/lapok/margitsziget.aspx and in various locations on site until October 19.
