Budapest-Belgrade railway line reaches milestone
With the laying of the last track, the track construction work on the section outside the capital has been completed, so that the work in Hungary can be finished by the end of next year, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó informed in Kiskőrös on Wednesday.
The construction of the Hungarian double-track high-speed section of the railway line is an investment of around 800 billion forints. V-Híd – a company owned by Orbán’s friend Lőrinc Mészáros – is playing a leading role in the construction of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line. In recent years, V-Híd and its partners have built 150 km of the double-track railway line. Preparations are currently underway for the installation of railway safety systems; work has begun on the section in the greater Budapest area.
