Austria’s FPO leader Kickl hails Hungary’s commitment to enforcing its interests

Responding to Orban’s congratulatory letter on his election to head the FPO, Kickl welcomed that his party and Hungary’s ruling Fidesz were set to intensify their cooperation in the future, Bertalan Havasi told MTI.

Kickly assured the prime minister that he was an ally of the Hungarian people in the preservation of Christian identity, tightening the European Union’s migration policy, protecting the EU’s external borders, safeguarding national sovereignty and strengthening national competencies within the bloc.

The FPO leader said he valued his “excellent relations” with Hungary, vowing to “foster an exchange of experiences with our Hungarian friends in the name of the entire FPO”.

Kickl said he “will not stand idly by as the Europe of homelands becomes a Europe without homelands”.

“We also cannot stand idly by as a prominent clique denies our real life and considers gender theory and the raising of the rainbow flag to be the ultimate standard of all things against the will of the majority,” he added.

Havasi noted that in his congratulatory letter to Kickl, Orban had said that the partnership between Fidesz and the FPO provided a solid foundation for boosting Hungarian-Austrian relations and resolving the issues that impact the future of the EU.
