All Hungarians evacuated from Sudan

All Hungarians have been successfully evacuated from Sudan, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Facebook late on Wednesday.

Szijjarto said the last Hungarian nationals, two minors, had been rescued from the civil-war stricken country in cooperation with Sweden. “They are now in Djibouti, in safety,” he added. He also said the children would be provided with temporary travel documents by Hungary’s honorary consul in Djibouti, and arrangements were being made for their return to Hungary.

In recent days, altogether 29 Hungarians have been evacuated from Sudan, in cooperation with other countries and the United Nations, as well as the Hungarian military, the minister said, and thanked all those participating in the operations.
