Agriculture Ministry: Speeding up termination of undivided common land ownership remains goal
This will further strengthen the sense of ownership, leading to better quality land and productivity, while making Hungarian agriculture more competitive, the ministry said in a statement.
Nearly half of Hungary’s agricultural areas are in undivided common land ownership, representing over 2 million hectares, it said. Some 250,000 requests have been submitted to land registry offices for the termination of common ownership for 53,500 tracts of land so far, it added. Some 90 percent of these procedures have been completed and those under way are soon to be completed, the ministry said.
The ministry welcomed the fact that around 230,000 owners have received their independently owned properties so far.
