Agriculture minister: HUF 4,265 bn available for rural developments until 2027

A total 4,265 billion forints (EUR 1.2bn) from European Union Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funding will be available for rural developments, farming, and food production projects in Hungary until 2027, the minister of agriculture said on Tuesday, adding that 1,529 billion forints from the grand total can be tapped in 2022 and 2023.

Istvan Nagy said the funds were “of historic magnitude”, adding that the government wanted all businesses in the sector to benefit.

To that end, the government will create incentives for family ventures and settle legal issues around common farmland, the minister said.
