Ader welcomes fishing development in Lake Balaton area
Traditional fish species of the Lake Balaton could again become available in larger quantities thanks to Balaton Halgazdalkodasi Nonprofit Zrt, which now has five fisheries of a combined area of 1,000 hectares, President Janos Ader said in his podcast dubbed Blue Planet broadcast on Monday.
Ader said that “following an ill-advised decision 20 years ago, the state again has a sufficient (lake) area to conclude serious disputes around a ban on Balaton fishing”.
He added that the fisheries could provide water quality similar to that of the Balaton, and raise such traditional fishes as carp, pike, and catfish.
