5G radiation levels safe, say experts
NNK and NMHH run regular radiation tests on 5G technology, the media authority said in a statement on Tuesday. The testing scheme was also presented at a conference held by the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), they said.
The supposed health impacts of 5G technology remains an important topic because there is still a degree of public concern over 5G radiation, the statement said.
5G data traffic in Hungary is still small compared with the older mobile network generations, the NMHH said.
The authority added, however, that its radiation monitoring service had received reports of people claiming to perceive 5G radiation even in places where 5G is not yet available.
The NMHH said its experts attach prime importance to the sense of safety of those who live near 5G towers, adding it was giving the public the option of requesting electromagnetic radiation measurements free of charge.
Because 5G is not yet widely available across the country, the ongoing measurements are being done in preparation for a mass radiation measurement programme, the statement said.
