Bird flu detected in SE Hungary
Food safety authority Nebih on Tuesday said it has detected a highly pathogenic strand of bird flu at a goose farm in Csongrad-Csanad County, in south-eastern Hungary.
A 3km protection zone as well as a surveillance zone were established after the virus subtype H5N1 was detected at the farm in Szentes, Nebih said, adding that some 6,000 geese would be culled.
