Trade surplus nears half a billion euros in January

The value of export was 7.4% lower, that of import decreased by 14% in EUR terms in January 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. The balance of the external trade in goods improved by EUR 900 million. Compared to the previous month, the export of goods increased by 12%, their import was up by 4.2%.

In January 2024 the value of exports amounted to EUR 11.4 billion (HUF 4,364 billion) and that of imports to EUR 10.9 billion (HUF 4,175 billion).

The surplus of the external trade in goods was EUR 497 million (HUF 190 billion).

The share of EU member states (EU27_2020) was 78% in exports and 70% in imports.

In January 2024 compared to a year earlier the value of exports decreased by 7.4%, that of imports lessened by 14% in EUR terms.
