Retail sales up 3.3 percent in July
Retail sales in Hungary rose 3.3pc year-on-year in July, data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Thursday show.
Growth accelerated from 1.7pc in June.
July retail sales rose 2.5pc when adjusted for calendar year effects. Adjusted food sales increased 2.0pc, non-food sales climbed 3.8pc and vehicle fuel sales inched down 0.6pc.
Retail sales were unchanged in a month-on-month comparison, adjusted for seasonal and calendar year effects.
In absolute terms, retail sales came to HUF 1,676 billion in July. Food sales accounted for 49pc of the total, non-food sales for 34pc and sales at petrol stations for 17pc.
For the period January-July, retail sales rose an unadjusted 3.0pc and an adjusted 2.6pc from the same period a year earlier.
