Industrial producer prices drop slightly from April to May
In May 2025 compared to May 2024 domestic output prices increased by 3.9% on average, within which they rose by 3.7% both in manufacturing, representing a weight of 62.7%, and in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), with a weight of 35.4%. Food industry output prices were up by 7.6%.
Prices in Hungary rose by 3.1% in energy and intermediate producer branches together, by 3.9% in capital goods producer and by 6.1% in consumer goods producer branches out of the end-use groups of the producer branches of industry.
Industrial non-domestic output prices were 8.3% higher, within which the prices increased by 4.4% in manufacturing, representing a weight of 91.8%, and by 16.9% in the energy industry, with a weight of 8.0%.
In January–May 2025 compared to January–May 2024 domestic output prices were 4.8% and non-domestic output prices 9.4% higher, so industrial producer prices as a whole were up by 7.9%.
