Industrial output up 1.8 percent in February
Headline industrial output rose by 1.8 percent in February 2024 compared with the same period last year, the Central Statistical Office said in a second reading of data on Friday.
Adjusted for the number of working days, output was up by 1.4 percent.
Month on month, output grew by 3.5 percent based on seasonally and working day-adjusted data.
The detailed data show that output of the automotive industry, Hungary’s biggest manufacturing sector, increased by an annual 1.6 percent in February. Output of the electrical equipment segment edged down by 0.8 percent, while computer, electronics and optical equipment output fell by 1.5 percent. Food, drinks and tobacco output climbed by 10.3 percent.
