Hungary public debt 75 percent of GDP in Q2

Hungary's public debt in proportion to GDP was 75 percent at the end of the second quarter, marginally higher than 74.9 percent at the end of Q1, according to preliminary data released by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) on Friday.

In absolute terms, Hungary gross public debt stood at 52,727 billion forints at the end of Q2, up from 51,175 billion at the end of March.

The NBH data show the general government’s net financing requirement — a fair approximation of the budget deficit — was 691 billion in Q2, equivalent to 3.8 percent of quarterly GDP.
