Gross wages climb 14 percent in February
The average gross wage in Hungary rose by an annual 14.0 percent to 605,400 forints (EUR 1540) in February, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
Net wages climbed at the same pace to 402,600 forints.
Real wages rose by 9.9 percent, calculating with February CPI of 3.7 percent.
The gross median wage increased by 16.2 percent to 491,900 forints.
Hungary’s statutory monthly minimum wage was raised by 15 percent to 266,800 forints for unskilled labourers and by 10 percent to 326,000 forints for skilled workers from December 1.
For the period January-February, gross wages averaged 605,200 forints and net wages came to 402,500 forints, up 14.3 percent from the same period a year earlier.
