Construction output down 3.2 percent in April

Output of Hungary's construction sector fell by an annual 3.2 percent in April, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.

Output of the buildings segment dropped by 4.4 percent and civil engineering output edged down 1.3 percent.

In absolute terms, construction sector output was worth 481 billion forints in April. The buildings segment accounted for 60.1 percent of the total.

Month on month, output fell by 2.6 percent, adjusted for seasonal and working-day effects.

Output in January-April was down 7.7 percent from the base period.
