Average gross earnings up by 12.5 per cent

Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 627,400 and average net earnings with tax benefits reached HUF 432,200 in September 2024. Average gross earnings grew by 12.5%, net earnings increased by 12.3% and real earnings were 9.2% higher than a year earlier. Median gross earnings were HUF 519,500, median net earnings were HUF 359,100, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 15.5% and 15.4%, respectively.

In september 2024 full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 627,400, which was 12.5% higher than a year earlier.

Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were estimated at HUF 605,100, being 12.7% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 606,100 in the business sector, HUF 592,600 in the budgetary sector and HUF 629,100 in the non-profit sector, rising by 12.2%, 14.2% and 13.5%, respectively, over a year.

Average net earnings reached HUF 417,200, excluding tax benefits and HUF 432,200, including them, being 12.5% and 12.3% higher than in September 2023.

Real earnings were up by 9.2%, along with a 3.0% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.

Median gross earnings were HUF 519,500, being 15.5% above the level a year earlier.

Median net earnings including tax benefits reached HUF 359,100, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 15.4%.

In January-September 2024 full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 633,500.

Average net earnings were HUF 421,300, excluding tax benefits and HUF 436,100, including tax benefits.

Average gross earnings and average net earnings excluding tax benefits increased by 13.7% and net earnings including tax benefits rose by 13.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
