Average earnings up by 6.3 percent
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings were HUF 789,200, which was 8.5% higher than a year earlier.
Average net earnings reached HUF 548,900, being 9.8% higher than in December 2024. The growth in the net earnings was considerably impacted by the higher amount of family tax allowance introduced as of 1 July 2025, and the tax allowance for mothers raising three children introduced as of 1 October 2025.
Regular average gross earnings (without premiums and one-month bonuses) were HUF 683,400, being 9.4% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Regular average gross earnings amounted to HUF 680,900 in the business sector, HUF 672,800 in the budgetary sector and HUF 734,000 in the non-profit sector, increasing by 9.7%, 9.2% and 6.9%, respectively, over a year.
Real earnings were up by 6.3%, along with a 3.3% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
Median gross earnings were HUF 607,700, being 9.4% above the one year earlier level.
Median net earnings reached HUF 427,500, surpassing the value for the same period of the previous year by 10.8%.
January-December 2025:
Full-time employees’ average gross earnings amounted to HUF 705,000, while average net earnings were HUF 486,800.
Average gross earnings increased by 9.0%, while net earnings grew by 9.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
