South Korean delegation has talks in Budapest

Gergely Fabian, state secretary at the economic development ministry, met with a delegation of South Korean deputies for talks to discuss bilateral economic cooperation, in Budapest on Wednesday.

At their talks, the Hungarian state secretary and MPs Han Moo-kyung, Yu Eui-dong and Hong Kee-won exchanged views on developing the battery industry, promoting electric vehicles, as well as hydrogen-based transport, infrastructure, and energy supplies, said a statement from the ministry.

Hungary’s location and its current production capacities could “serve as a good basis to build a national hydrogen economy”, the statement added.

Fabian highlighted South Korea’s crucial role with regard to the Hungarian economy. In 2022, the country was Hungary’s largest investor, while 130 Korean companies “ensure the livelihood of 15,000 Hungarian families”, he added.
