Semjen: Strong Hungarian political force needed in Serbia

If the Hungarian Association of Vojvodina (VMSZ) continues to have a major role in the political life of Vojvodina and Serbia, support from Hungary can be implemented more effectively, Zsolt Semjen, the deputy prime minister, said in Conoplja (Csonoplya) on Wednesday.

He said Hungary supported all Hungarian communities across the border, though the support was far more effective if an institutional system was in place to implement it, and VMSZ provided such a system in Vojvodina.

But VMSZ would only continue to do this successfully with “decisive weight” in the national and provincial parliaments, he added.
