President Novak to travel to Egypt and attend COP28 conference
President Katalin Novak will travel to Egypt for an official visit on November 27 and later on December 1 give an address at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates, the Sandor Palace told MTI on Sunday.
Egypt is Hungary’s key strategic partner in the Middle East and the North Africa region and plays an important role in stopping illegal migration to Europe, the president’s office said.
During her official visit, Novak will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy Ali Gebaly and Pope Tawadros II, head of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.
The COP28 conference will be held in the United Arab Emirates with nearly 80,000 delegates, including 140 heads of states and governments.
