Orbán: Military cooperation with Serbia raised to new level

Viktor Orbán and Aleksandar Vucic have discussed raising military industrial cooperation between Hungary and Serbia to a new level, the prime minister's press chief said on Saturday.

The prime minister had talks with the Serbian president in Belgrade on Saturday, Bertalan Havasi said, noting that Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky, the defence minister, and Laszlo Palkovics, the chief executive of N7 Nemzeti Vedelmi Ipari Innovation Holding, were among officials attending the talks.

Besides discussing ways to deepen cooperation on military technology and development, Orbán and Vucic reviewed the European security situation and developments around the war in Ukraine, as well as the outlook for the European integration of the Western Balkans.

The leaders were scheduled to visit Batajnica air base to view “Granit 2023”, a military capability demonstration organised as part of Serbian Armed Forces Day.
