Lazar meets Romanian development minister in Budapest
The government is making strenuous efforts to boost economic ties with Romania, Janos Lazar, the minister of construction and transport, said after talks in Budapest on Thursday with Attila Cseke, Romania's development and public works minister.
Developing transport infrastructure between the two countries and making the borders more permeable are key goals, Lazar said.
He sought to assure Cseke of Hungary’s commitment to supporting Romania’s bid to join the Schengen zone. On this score, Cseke thanked the Hungarian government for its support, and he praised bilateral economic ties which produced trade worth 15 billion euros last year.
