Richter partner gets clearance for Estetrol-based drug
Fuji Pharma has received marketing approval in Japan for a drug to treat menstrual cramps containing Estetrol, an active ingredient in the portfolio of Hungarian partner Gedeon Richter.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Richter said the clearance by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare would trigger a milestone payment of EUR 10m to one of its subsidiaries.
Fuji holds development and commercialisation rights for the drug, with the brand name Alyssa, in Japan and the ASEAN region.
