Return to subsidised electricity prices
From January, micro-enterprises will be able to return to the universal tariff at reduced electricity prices. This was announced by Energy Minister Csaba Lantos.
This will be possible after the current electricity supply contracts expire. In theory, most of the approximately 860,000 micro-enterprises operating in Hungary will have the opportunity to significantly improve their competitiveness through lower energy prices. In addition, micro-enterprises have so far been exempted from electricity surcharges totalling almost 160 million forints.
Due to the international energy crisis, the government changed the conditions for micro-enterprises eligible for universal tariffs in August 2022.
