Economy development minister meets Huawei executives

Economy development minister Marton Nagy on Tuesday met representatives of telecommunications company Huawei, the ministry said in a statement.

Nagy discussed digital challenges facing the Hungarian economy, digital transition and related government programmes, with Huawei’s president in charge of the European region Jim Lu, its chief executive for Hungary and the Western Balkans Gao Weijie, and the head of the Hungarian unit Jason Xie.

The talks focused on the government’s National Digitalisation Strategy for 2022-2030 and Huawei’s potential participation in the digital transition of the Hungarian economy.

Nagy said “dependable partners with cutting edge technology, such as Huawei” could play “an important role” in Hungary’s digital development.
