The investment creating 110 jobs will include a 14,000sqm smart warehouse that will function with 700 robots and a 150m conveyer belt able to handle as many as 45,000-55,000 items an hour, Innovation and Technology Ministry state secretary Tamas Schanda said.
The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) and the Obuda University in the capital will be involved in planning the warehouse, he added.
CECZ will also build a 15,000sqm warehouse for batteries and battery feedstock and another 5,500sqm, temperature-controlled one for raw materials for surgical gloves and other health-care supplies, he said.
Zoltan Szabo, managing director of CECZ unit Ghibli Raktarlogisztikai, said the investment is expected to be completed in a year and a half, helping make Hungary a centre of e-commerce in the region.
CECZ is China’s first country-level trade and logistics overseas cooperation zone and international marketing services platform.
