Banks increase fees

The banks are allowed to raise their fees by 3.7%. This corresponds to last year's inflation rate.

There are no surprises in the new fee changes, as most banks adjust fees for account management and orders in the spring of each year in line with the average of the previous year’s consumer price index.

Four banks have already announced this move, including CIB Bank and K&H from the beginning of April and OTP and UniCredit Bank from the beginning of March. Other banks are expected to follow suit in the coming days.

There was already an increase in bank charges at the beginning of this year when the financial institutions passed on the costs of the increased transaction tax to customers.
