In an interview on Kossuth Radio, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán laid out the government’s position on Ukraine’s fast-tracked accession to the European Union, presenting it as not only an economic threat to Hungary but also a broader strategic mistake for Europe.

Csaba Dömötör said the screening process was taking place "with unprecedented speed" and the Commission was helping Ukraine full steam ahead.

The president said Central Europe, including Hungary, was "a bridge" for cooperation between East and West.

The prime minister stated that he regarded Hungary’s ethnic Slovak community "a valuable and respectable part" of the country.

"I am convinced that no one may limit member states' sovereignty on migration policy," PM Orbán said.

The prime minister said it was "regrettable" that Ukraine was blocking natural gas transit across its territory.

Donald Trump Jr said the Biden administration had often been hostile to Viktor Orbán’s government because of its patriotic policies and support for Donald Trump.

The state secretary held talks with Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Qatar’s minister of environment, on the sidelines of the general assembly. The two officials were in agreement on the importance of cooperation across regions and cultures.
