Highlights of the programme will include concerts by Denis Matsouev, Anoushka Shankar, and Pat Metheny, Kael said.

The summer season, which runs until July 5, will open “in the spirit of creativity, high quality, and renewal”, with a focus on “opera, chamber music, circus and jazz”, the director said.

The autumn season will “link Budapest with Berlin in the Bridges of Europe series” while Richard Strauss will be in the focus of a series of concerts in 2022, he said, highlighting also the Gyorgy Cziffra memorial year and the traditional Wagner Days next year.

In the summer season, the facility will offer fewer seats with regard to social distancing, while concert goers will be required to present an immunity certificate and wear a mask indoors.
