The awards cover all skill sets: professional, amateur and student. Photographers can share their unique perspectives on the world, competing for international recognition as “BIFA Photographer of the Year” and “BIFA New Talent of the Year”, which receive USD3000 and USD2000 cash prizes respectively, and a trophy. The category winners will each receive a USD200 cash prize.

BIFA says their work will be exhibited in Budapest and beyond, showcased on the main page of the BIFA website and in an online gallery exhibition. The organisation says its winners receive significant international publicity and exposure.

BIFA describes its mission as being to promote the work of professional and emerging international photographers to the fast-growing artistic community of Budapest and across the world, putting them in the spotlight and providing them with a great platform to showcase their work.

The competition is promoted as an international platform for photographers from all levels and genres to share their best images with the creative community in Hungary and Eastern Europe. BIFA says: “We acknowledge the power of even a single photograph to greatly influence an audience, and how the artistic eye of the photographer behind the camera can interpret a scene in so many creative ways. We know that every image has a story to tell, and this is the place to tell it.”

The full list of first- and second-place Category Winners, and Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each of the competition’s categories, plus Honorable Mentions from across both professional and amateur entries will be posted on the BIFA website Winners Page.

Budapest International Foto Awards describes itself as an inspirational community that recognises the power and influence of photography in shaping how we see the world. BIFA wants to nurture creative expression and support photographers who have important stories to share through their images. The competition links international photographers with the creative community in Budapest, putting them in the spotlight and providing them with a platform to showcase their work.

Winners are selected by a jury of photographers and leaders in the field, and are awarded the BIFA trophy, cash prizes, extensive publicity showcasing their work to a worldwide audience, and more. Entry fees apply. BIFA is managed by Farmani Group, International Awards Inc. BIFA is the sister competition of Moscow and Tokyo International Foto Awards.
