Esterhazy collection to be displayed in China
Textiles and ornamental weapons from the Hungarian Museum of Applied Arts' Esterhazy collection will be on display at the China Silk Museum in Hangzhou, the Budapest museum said in statement on Wednesday.
The Hungarian museum will be the guest of honour at this year’s Silk Road Week in China, Emese Pasztor, curator of the exhibition, said.
She added that the 34 Hungarian pieces will be showcased at the exhibition running from June 25 until the end of August . The collection includes two luxurious, 17th century garments belonging to notable members of the Esterhazy family, as well as a 15th century Persian tapestry depicting a Safavid ruler and his court.
