One of the displays, dubbed Photo exhibition about Brazil, will offer a selection of works by Kurt Klagsbrunn (1918-2005), an Austrian Jew who emigrated to Brazil during the second world war, where he “found shelter and a new homeland”, organisers told MTI on Tuesday.

The second exhibition, entitled The heritage of exiles (1933-1945) will highlight the life of people that fled Europe for Brazil, focusing on 38 refugees with outstanding achievements in the areas of music, photography, literature, theatre, economics, science, and sports.

The exhibitions will be opened by Brazilian Ambassador Susan Kleebank.
