Art Market Budapest to present 100 exhibitors from four continents
“Art Market Budapest is far more than just an art fair, it serves as a platform for shaping image and promote culture with the spotlight put this year on contemporary Roma art, on the art of design and on fine arts, and on visual culture in our digital age,” Attila Ledenyi said.
He highlighted a strong showing of galleries from the Far East including South Korea, China and Japan and the presence of exhibitors from the United States, South America and South Africa as well.
The galleries presenting themselves on the largest stands include Hungary’s acb and Erdesz Gallery, Germany’s M Beck and Art Affair, Columbia’s Adrian Ibanez and Romania’s Jecza, Ledenyi added. Hungary will be presented by close to 50 exhibitors featuring some 300 artists, he said.
As Hungary has a special relationship with photography through the heritage of Andre Kertesz, Robert Capa and Laszlo Moholy-Nagy among others, the art fair will present its satellite Art Photo Budapest, the only international photo art fair in the region, he said.
Art Market Budapest has attracted a quarter of a million visitors over the past decade.
The 13th Art Market will run from Thursday until Sunday in the Balna cultural centre.
