10th Art Market Budapest to present 70 exhibitors from 20 countries
The focus will be on contemporary Hungarian artwork with titles by Imre Bak, Laszlo Feher, Dora Mauer, Tibor Hajas, Imre Bukta, Peter Korniss and Tamas Konok, Attila Ledenyi told a press conference.
As regards the international art scene, one of the galleries will present works by Bulgarian-born French artist Christo, famous for his monumental environmental art, who deceased earlier this year, Ledenyi said. He added that central and eastern Europe’s leading international art fair has been organised in cooperation with the CAFe Budapest contemporary art festival.
Coinciding with the Art Market, the annual festival dubbed Budapest Art Week will be held between October 16 and 25 and its programmes will include exhibitions, guided tours of art shows and city tours, visits to artist studios and other events. The organisers said that this year’s Budapest Art Week will be record long and special attention would be placed on attracting families and young adults.
