Criminals were trying to ensure that Hungary books a record number of bank robberies in one year last Wednesday. Shortly after half past nine, a man wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses and armed with a six-shooter revolver, forced the bank clerk of an Erste branch in Budapest’s District XI to “hand over the money”. The 190 cm, 30-35 year old man had left the scene by the time a police unit arrived.
Later the same day another bank was robbed in District XIII. No one was injured in either of the incidents.
