Friday, 20 March

Liszt Ferenc Music Academy at 7.30pm: Gábor Farkas and István Lajkó (two pianos) will perform Mozart’s Sonata in D major, Liszt’s Concerto Pathétique and Brahms’s Sonata in F minor. Venue: District VI, Liszt Ferenc tér 8. Tel. (06-1) 342-0179
 
Saturday, 21 March

Railway Museum at 7pm: Hungarian premiere of Haydn’s Philemon and Baucis (Tickets include return ticket for a train departing from Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station) at 6pm). Venue: District XIV, Tatai u. 95. tel. (06-1)298-0558
Liszt Ferenc Music Academy at 7.30pm: Oleg Maisenberg (piano) and the Kremerata Baltica will perform compositions by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Arvo Pärt, Britten and Bartók. Details: Friday, 20 March

Thalia Theatre at 7.30pm: Yoshihiro Ota (piano), Gayo Nakagaki (koto) and Tokyo-Budapest Ensemble will perform compositions by Alkan, Minoru Miki, Gayo Nakagaki, Beethoven and Mozart. Venue: District VI, Nagymező u. 22-24. Tel. (06-1) 312-4230. www.thalia.hu

Thalia Theatre at 7pm: The Tokyo Chamber Opera with  Masami Tanto, Izumi Tanabe, Noboru Hisaoka, Akire Watanebe (voice), Yumino Toyoda (violin), Leonid Gulchin (viola), Masami Nakagawa (flute), and Yayoi Fujiwara, Sumire Yoshihara (percussion) will perform Atsushi-Nakajama-Sakae Nakamura-Hitshi Tanaka’s the Legend of the Moon and Tiger.  Details: Saturday, 21 March

Tuesday, 24 March

Wednesday, 25 March

Bartók Béla National Concert Hall at 7.30pm: An Evening with the Hungarian National Philharmonic on the Anniversary of Bartók’s Birth, conducted by Zoltán Kocsis. Details: Tuesday, 24 March

Hungarian Academy of Sciences Great Hall at 7.30pm: Haydn-Bartók chamber evening with Gottlieb Wallisch (piano), Benjamin Schmid (violin), Richard Harwood (cello) and Ralph Manno (clarinet). Details: Monday, 23 March

Thursday, 26 March

Bartók Béla National Concert Hall at 7.30pm: The Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Piotr Anderszewski  (piano) will perform works by J. Ch. Bach and Mozart. Details: Tuesday, 24 March
Saturday, 28 March

Liszt Ferenc Music Academy at 7.30pm: Countertenor Philippe Jaroussky with Jérôme Ducros (piano) will perform works by Massenet, Lekeu, Fauré, Chaminade, Chausson and Hahn. Details: Friday, 20 March

Matthias Church at 8pm: Napoleon ante portas! Veronika Geszthy, Katalin Halmai, Tibor Szappanos, Péter Cser  (voice), the Zugló Philharmonia, and the King Stephen Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Choir, conducted by Kálmán Záborszky will perform Haydn’s Nokolai-messe and Paukenmesse.
