Spanish flair with focus on content-based education

SEK Budapest International School is a trilingual, co-educational, private day school offering both national and international challenging educational programmes to Hungarian and expatriate children in Budapest.
The school was founded in 1997 as a part of SEK- International Education Systems, an institution with more than a hundred years of experience in education. The school campus is located in District II’s easily accessible green area in H?vösvölgyi Street.
Students and staff
More than 200 students aged from 3 to 18, coming from 15 different nations, are currently enrolled. The teaching staff in charge of the students is made up of friendly, highly trained foreign and Hungarian educators. They follow the school philosophy based on the mixture of content-based education and the acquisition of skills and concepts.
This enables the students to engage in lifelong learning, but at the same time gives them factual knowledge necessary for further education.

Curriculum
The school curriculum is mainly based on Hungarian National Curriculum, with special emphasis on languages. Both English and Hungarian are teaching languages while Spanish is taught as a second language. The school also provides classes for German, French, Russian and Serbian, upon request.
SEK, as one of the few schools in Budapest that offers the Spanish language, keeps very close relations with Cervantes Institute and is an accredited centre for DELE examination.
The SEK students are also successfully prepared for different English exams (FCE and ACE). Since 2005 SEK is an accredited IBO (Internat-ional Baccalaureate Organiz-ation) school.
The school provides an informative preparatory course for the grade 10 students who opt to study in the IB Diploma Programme (11th and 12th grade), and offers a range of subjects including Economics, Environmental Systems & Society, and from this year, Film. The highly demanding IB programme proved to be an excellent preparation for prestigious universities in Hungary and abroad (England, Canada, USA, Spain, Austria, etc.)

Extra-curricular
Its regular study tours to the USA and UK are an integral part of SEK’s educational offer. Students have the opportunity to spend from one week to one year in one of the schools from the same institution, studying language and getting familiar with different cultures and ways of living.
SEK Budapest Internat-ional School also offers a variety of after-school activities such as sports, arts, music, languages, dance, etc.
SEK welcomes new students all year round.
