Not too long ago I was having a leisurely conversation with a friend of mine who was going through quite a bit of difficulty. Through our discussion it became apparent that he was very concerned about what the future held for him. Review: Jardinette, District XII

Jardinette – little garden – is so named because of the large garden that shelters it from the road. The names of the restaurants established in the same premises in the last 100 years or so give more indications about the place: “Grey Donkey” for its situation in the District XII hills as a watering hole for donkey carts and their drivers, and “Nepenthe” (quencher of sorrow) for the Farkasréti cemetery across the road. What the current, French, name does not reflect is that Jardinette is a resolutely Hungarian restaurant. Continue »
