The Hungarian State Opera House premieres La fille mal gardée composed by Ferdinand Hérold and choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton at 7pm on Sunday, 23 January.

Ashton (1904 – 1988) was a leading international dancer and was the founding choreographer of The Royal Ballet in London. Ashton received the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award from the Royal Academy of Dance in 1959, and in 1962 he was knighted for his services to ballet.
