The Spring Wine Festival kicks off this year’s wine and pálinka festival season. This is the fourth year that wine producers and wine lovers will gather on Easter weekend at the Városháza Park. This time the festival is about jazz as well as wine.

Some 50 wine producers will present their wares from 11 to 13 April at the Városháza Park (near Deák Ferenc tér). One of the guests of honour is János Frittmann, wine producer of the year in 2007. A selected jury will pick the “wine of the city” based on wine tasting and the opinions of the public. Fine cheeses, salami and chocolate will also be on offer.
This year the organisers have decided to combine wine with jazz. The programme includes names such as the Tzumo Trio (Saturday, 11 April at 8pm), the Trio Fábián Juli Jazz Riff (Sunday, 12 April at 6.15pm) and the Harcsa Veronika Quartet (Monday, 13 April at 6pm). Entry to the festival is free. For further information see: www.tavaszborfesztival.hu or www.fesztivalkalauz.hu.
