Weather forecast for Friday

Budapest, April 24 (MTI) – Following a night with clear skies,
the cloud cover will build on Friday, triggering scattered showers
in the west from about noon onward. Winds from the north will gust to about 40 km/h overnight but
die down towards morning. Nighttime lows should range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius,
hitting the freeze point in some places, and daytime highs will be
between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius, the National Weather Service

Household gas prices expected to rise 25-30 percent in 2008

Budapest, April 24 (MTI) – Household gas prices in Hungary will
go up by a total of 25-30 percent this year, compared to a 35
percent increase in 2007, economic research firm GKI told MTI on

Ownership council recommends companies to be included in ownership programme

Budapest, April 24 (MTI) – The New Ownership Program Council
proposed to the prime minister that the Motorway Management Company
AAK, Hungarian Electricity Works MVM, transmission-system operator
Mavir, lottery company Szerencsejatek and, later, postal service
Magyar Posta, be included in the government’s New Ownership Program,

V4 ministers support Ukraine, Georgia bid to NATO, says Hungarian minister

Prague, April 24 (MTI) – Visegrad Four (V4) countries (Hungary,
Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland) support Ukraine and
Georgia’s bid to join NATO and Ukraine’s advancement in European
