Budapest police cash-strapped, like transport company, says c’ttee

The policing committee of Budapest
Municipal Council on Wednesday proposed to ask Mayor Gabor Demszky
to request a budget topup for the Budapest police force from the
central budget funds, similarly to the funds just requested for the

Weather forecast for Thursday

Budapest, April 9 (MTI) – Overcast skies alternating with longer
sunny periods. Sporadic rain, showers are likely. Thundershowers,
even hail, are expected during the afternoon. Southerly,
south-westerly winds will pick up and gust to high during
thundershowers. Nighttime lows should range from 6 to 11 degrees Celsius and
daytime highs will be between 17 and 22 degrees Celsius, the

Hungary in Afghanistan long term, Sólyom tells Karzai

László Sólyom last Friday assured his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai that
Hungarian troops would be in Afghanistan
for the long haul during Karzai’s one-day visit to Budapest. “Hungary
