I first want to establish that

Budapest’s much-maligned
M4 metro project is being blamed for a mysterious lowering of the water level
in a popular Budapest oasis. The Bottomless Lake (Feneketlen tó) in District XI
dropped by a metre over the winter, prompting fears that it is being affected
by ongoing excavation of Budapest’s fourth metro line, which runs through the

freely in Hungary and a wide selection of competitive media outlets
generally operate without interference from the state, media
advocates note a slight pro-governmental bias in most state-owned
media, the non-profit human rights organisation Freedom House said
